This is a sketchy watercolour painting of a sunflower with some details added in ink. I’m trying some different combinations of watercolour and ink.

Yesterday I painted this sunflower from a loose painted outline, gradually adding shading washes and detail, then a bit of white and black ink to pick out some highlights and shadows and add texture. I overworked the watercolour more than I meant to but I’m still happy with the result. Messy painting isn’t always a bad thing!
